Hi Neighbors!
I hope everyone is enjoying this spectacular end of Summer weather we’re having!
Per Eileen’s 8/23 message, I wanted to share a list of Byeforde - Rock Creek Highlands Citizens' Association committees for your review (below and attached). In addition to any special projects, these volunteer committees will be the focus of our activities as a neighborhood association. As such, we are hopeful that you will find something on the list that interests you and sign up to help out!
We are looking for both chairs and volunteers for each of these committees. As a chair, you will be responsible for the following:
1/ Refining the scope of the committee's activities
2/ Creating a list of goals for the committee to achieve over the next year and, as appropriate, events the committee will organize
3/ Soliciting and organizing volunteers to achieve the committee’s goals
4/ Briefing the BRCHCA officers on activities, budget requirements, and progress against goals
As we are still in the formative stages of the association, our expectations for committee chairs are quite low, so please don’t feel like this is a major time commitment on your part! We’re really looking for people who have a few hours a month that they can dedicate to helping us improve our neighborhood for all.
If you are interested in either being a committee chair or a volunteer, please respond back to me indicating your interest. I will assist in matching volunteers to committees and working with the chairs to stand up their teams.
I do hope that you will consider being a volunteer, even if you have just a small amount of time to commit. We all benefit from an active neighborhood association.
I look forward to hearing from you and please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!
John Loveland
